Minutes of the Meeting of the 2024 RBIMGC Board of Directors
September 19, 2024
The meeting was held in the RBI Veranda bar. In attendance were Gregg Gattuso, David Schwartz, Norm Blades, Johnny Watson, John Kersey, Brad Sandstrom, Jeff Bondesson, Scott Hamelin, Roger Smith, Jerry Canning, and Joe Walkington.
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Gregg Gattuso.
Director of Golf’s Report – Matt Loflen for Evan Biundo
Matt reported the sod work is done on #15 and #16 fairways and they are pleased with the work. These holes will remain CPO and LCP into 2025. We asked that sand bottles be placed on the fairways of #15 and #16 so we will be more likely to fill divots. Also we asked that the carts have full sand bottles. Matt is working with our board of directors on the November 12 annual dinner in the Bernardo Ballroom.
Secretary’s Report – Johnny Watson:
Johnny noted that the minutes of the August 15, 2024, Board of Directors meeting had been circulated for comment, revised and posted on the website. Johnny asked for a motion to approve the minutes.

Treasurer’s Report – John Kersey:
John discussed in detail the Treasurer’s report for the one-month period of time ending September 19, 2024. He reviewed the cash receipts and disbursements and reported the club’s finances are sound.
Membership Report – Jerry Canning:
As of September 19 we have 2 new members. We have 10 membership renewals and no non-renewals. There are 4 new applicants in the pipeline. Total membership is 177 vs 176 this time last year.
Handicap Chairman – Norm Blades:
Nothing new to report and all members are qualified to win prizes in our tournaments.
Tournament Chairman – Joe Walkington:
Joe proposed the 52 tournament mix for 2025 to be 8 ILN’s, 8 two man teams and 36 4 man team events. We discussed his proposed mix and agreed to use the proposed mix for 2025.
Rules Committee – David Schwartz:
Nothing new to report.
Web site – Scott Hamelin:
Scott commented on the charges for Go Daddy software. Recent payments have been made to Go Daddy for website security ($479,76 biannually) and Web Hosting ($119.88 annually). A payment for SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is due in November 2024 in the amount of $99.99.
Open Discussion:
- We continued the discussion concerning Golf Genius and the opportunity to purchase an enhanced version that would allow “real time” score keeping. There are several choices to share the funding if we choose to purchase the software. David Schwartz will look into it further for the next meeting.
- The pace of play issue was discussed and Gregg Gattuso will send a reminder to the members.
- The annual Golf Day and banquet details were discussed. Gregg has assigned jobs to several board members.
- The November board of directors meeting will be moved to Nov. 14.

August 15, 2024
The meeting was held in the RBI Veranda bar. In attendance were Gregg Gattuso, David Schwartz, Norm Blades, Johnny Watson, John Kersey, Brad Sandstrom, Jeff Bondesson, Scott Hamlin, and Roger Smith.
The following board members were absent: Jerry Canning and Joe Walkington
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Gregg Gattuso.
Director of Golf’s Report – Evan Biundo
Evan reported that the channel work on #12, #15, and #16 were waiting to be funded. The new JC course at Eagle Crest should open in November and Cross Creek course is now open to JC members. Jamie Lemon, GM joined Evan and discussed the several projects he is working on.

Johnny noted that the minutes of the July 18, 2024, Board of Directors meeting had been circulated for comment, revised and posted on the website. Johnny asked for a motion to approve the minutes.

As of August 15 we have no new members. We have 3 membership renewals and 2 non-renewals. There are no new applicants in the pipeline. Total membership is 175 vs 175 this time last year.

Nothing new to report and all members are qualified to win prizes in our tournaments.
Tournament Chairman – Roger Smith for Joe Walkington:
The September 16 tournament will be played at Twin Oaks and October 7th at Vineyard. Holes #12, 15, 16 will remain GUR in the fairway only.
Rules Committee – David Schwartz:
Nothing new to report.

Recent difficulties by the TD to add a new P&R to WordPress Dashboard have been corrected by erasing old P&R postings.
Open Discussion:
The SCGA has announced a $5 increase in their annual fees effective with all membership renewals due on or after December 31, 2024. The BOD will increase annual membership of RBIMGC to $120. MSUA
President Gregg Gattuso will send a memo with the new annual membership information.
A problem has come up with the concentration of walkers into the same groupings and starting holes. It was decided the TD’s should try to spread the walkers between all groups except those starting on holes 13, 14, and 16 and limit one walker per 4 some.

July 18, 2024
The meeting was held in the RBI Veranda bar. In attendance were Gregg Gattuso, David Schwartz, Norm Blades, Joe Walkington, Johnny Watson, Jerry Canning, John Kersey, Brad Sandstrom, and Roger Smith.

Director of Golf’s Report – Matt Loflen in place of Evan Biundo
Matt reported that Dave Buckles has finished work on the #2 and #9 bunkers and is about 1 ⁄ 3 way through the other bunkers. A part has been ordered for the Range Servant ball machine and the pro shop will continue dispensing buckets of balls until it is repaired. He will check that buckets are available in the staging area. The channel renovation work on #12, #15, and #16 will be done when the job is approved.

Total membership is 177 vs 175 this time last year. David Schwartz proposed a motion to reduce the maximum SCGA index for new members to 32.0. MSUA.
Handicap Chairman – Norm Blades:
Nothing new to report and all members are qualified to win prizes in our tournaments.
Tournament Chairman – Joe Walkington:
Joe continues to look at 3-4 courses for our Oct. 8 tournament. At RBI on that date we will play 9 holes twice because of newly punched greens.
Rules Committee – Dave Schwartz:
David will update the Club’s local rules to clarify the treatment of balls hit on #4 and #8 that enter the shrubs and/or the vegetation from the cross-over bridge from the #3 hole up to and including the bathroom and maintenance area side of the cart path.

Open Discussion:
Trophies. Gregg and David will order the trophies for the Spring Memorial Tournament, President’s Cup, Golf Day, and Anniversary Cup. They will be ready for the November annual meeting.
The SCGA has announced a $5 increase in their annual fees effective with all membership renewals due on or after December 31, 2024.
The SCGA has increased the annual fees by $5. John Kersey will prepare a budget for next year and we will decide how to handle it at the August meeting.
